Hi, I'm Bridget!

The girl "bee-hind" the lens

I go by Bridget and Bee! See what I did up there? I was born and raised in southern Indiana. I have an amazingly supportive family and an even more amazing man by my side. I am a bonus-mom to an amazing boy and triplet girls that are the perfect mix of strength, sassiness and sweetness. I like to stay busy, but I also like to sit down and play video games or just be with family and friends in my free time.

Where it All Started

My photography journey started as a hobby when I was 15. I was using my first gen IPod Touch to take pictures of everything and anything. My parents got me a DSLR as a Christmas present that year and my love for taking photos just took off from there.  My family has never been the type to have pictures taken, but my mom started a Facebook page for me for my first business, Bridget Phillips Photography, when I was 16 so I had a better outlet to post my photos. My first client session was a big family, 11 people total, which was definitely a lot for me as a shy teenager. The family was so kind and patient, even with me being so young, and they will always hold a special place in my heart.

When quarantine was put into place in 2020, I had to put my business on the backburner and somehow, I just lost the spark during that time. In 2022, I started trying to get my traction back but unfortunately the 2 year hiatus did quite a bit of damage to not only the business but my confidence as a photographer. I thought I had lost my spark for good. However, in 2024, I decided to completely rebrand the business and treat it as a whole new experience, like I'm just starting again. I closed the doors to Bridget Phillips Photography, a name that will always hold a special place in my heart as it served as the gateway for so much positivity, love and friendships. I then opened the doors to Bee-hind the Lens.

In every aspect of life, I love to connect with people, and especially within photography as it helps me create a comfortable environment where I can capture the most genuine side of their personality. A photo of your true, candid self is way more perfect than a posed picture with big smiles and perfect eye contact. Let's keep it fun!

“I LOVE a good black & white filter. It just makes an image pop and sometimes stands out more than bright colors.”
